Mozzarella Sticks Queen

 Chili's Fried Mozzarella- 2/10 crowns Anyone who knows me knows I am a Chili's enthusiast, but I cannot stand by this decision. Chili's removing the cheese bites from the menu is absolutely heinous and when I discovered that (unfortunately it ruined some of the glamour of Barbz Day) I literally think I may have hyperventilated in the restaurant. Anyway, this post is about the mozzarella sticks as their own entity, not in relation to the cheese bites. In that case, they would get a 0/10 rating.  The breading: Easily the best part of this experience. I thought the flavor was good enough and was crispy, even when I ordered them to-go for my second trial.  The cheese: This is definitely where Chili's loses me. For a Tex-Mex restaurant I don't think these match the theme at all. Even mozzarella sticks themselves are questionable. But these are thick pieces of fried mozzarella.  Pizza Hut Mozzarella Sticks- 7.5/10 crowns Hello, friends. I am so sorry that I have been slacking lately. Let me assuage any worries you may have by assuring you that in that time I was still eating mozzarella sticks, and I have new reviews up my sleeves. Anyway, anyone who knows me knows I am a certified sl*t for the Hut and that I would drink the buffalo sauce that they use instead of marinara. Anywhosies, these were really good! I've never seen these on the menu before, so when I did, I screamed and instantly added to the cart. The breading: The breading had a nice flavor! It was a thinner breading coating, kind of like Applebee's, but good. Not terrific, but solid.   Chili's Crispy Cheddar Bites- 9.5/10 We are once again interrupting the normal flow of mozzarella content to bring you: Chili's cheddar bites. These are so so good. Period. Let's just get into it. The breading: The breading on these is simply a crispy outer shell, and there is nothing wring with that in this context. Especially because miss chili tops them with a blend of spices. I really can't handle any spice and will mostly eat mild buffalo wings with tears in my eyes, but the combination and amount of spices makes for the right mix.  The cheese: If you get these right from the kitchen (as I have on several occasions) and you don't eat the whole thing in one bite, you might actually get something of a cheese pull, good job, Chili.  Texas Roadhouse Twisted Mozzarella- 6/10 crowns   I am once again telling you I'm sure of what you're  thinking. Mozzarella sticks... Texas Roadhouse? And, sure, you would be right, this is certainly an odd combination. I come here for the onion flower, not mozzarella sticks. I think cheddar, not mozzarella. But you know what? These were actually decent. Worth the try, if you will. The breading: Jumping right into things, these were obviously frozen.  Applebee's Crispy Cheese Bites- 1.5/10 crowns Applebee's is already on thin ice because they have once again raised their dine for two meal price from 2 for $22 to 2 for $24. ***Update 06/29/2023 2 for TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS NOW.  Utter jail. Just go to Chili's at that point because in their 2 for $25 dine meal, you get an appetizer, two entrees AND a dessert.  ***Update 06/29/2023 This Chili’s deal doesn’t exist anymore and for that they are on thin ice.  Target's Market Pantry Mozzarella Sticks- 6.5/10 crowns Ok, I know what you're thinking. You're probably thinking "well, she's biased because she works at Target." But you know what? These were really good. I am seriously considering how to get more out of the freezer from the back so I can buy them tonight after my shift.  The breading: As soon as I saw these come out of the package my mind did a double take. She was like "???". They looked so familiar, but as far as i can remember, I have never tried these (and I have been missing out, as I'm sure you probably are, too). Attilio’s Mozzarella Sticks- 4/10 crowns Ok, I would like to make it clear that they got this high of a rating despite the taste for one reason and one reason only. The breading: These definitely came from a freezer, so the mozzarella stick itself was bland. They were not trying to hide the tasteless breading (fried coating, really). The cheese: I ate these right after I picked them up from the pizzeria, and even though they were still hot when I ate them (enough so that steam came out of the container when I opened it), there was no cheese pull to be spoken of. There was minimal stretch, and along with that, minimal taste.  The sauce: This is where it’s at. They didn’t do much right with these, but the sauce? Immaculate.
