Wegman's Mozzarella Sticks

Image
Wegman's Mozzarella Sticks- 8.5/10 crowns These surprised me. They were solid, like, these were good! Wegmans has an in-store food court that serves all kinds of foods like subs, pizza, and sushi, and since this seems like an unlikely place to get (good) ready-to-eat fried cheese, these definitely defied my expectations.   The breading: These mozzarella sticks seemed to have an actual breadcrumb breading instead of the fried outer coating, which seems more expensive to me. Point, Weggy. I also got these super fresh, so the crunch was amazing! I was very impressed with this quality. The cheese: The. Cheese. Pull. Now, like I said I ordered these fresh so the cheese pull was very good. The cheese was hot and super stringy. I got to extend most of my arm, which attests to how good the cheese pull was, though I do believe this is subject to freshness.  The sauce: This is where they lose me because the cup of marinara was extra money, so I did not order it this first tim...

Target's Market Pantry Mozzarella Sticks

Target's Market Pantry Mozzarella Sticks- 6.5/10 crowns Ok, I know what you're thinking. You're probably thinking "well, she's biased because she works at Target." But you know what? These were really good. I am seriously considering how to get more out of the freezer from the back so I can buy them tonight after my shift.  The breading: As soon as I saw these come out of the package my mind did a double take. She was like "???". They looked so familiar, but as far as i can remember, I have never tried these (and I have been missing out, as I'm sure you probably are, too). Anyway, these are TOTAL dupes for Farm Rich mozzarella sticks, which, as we know, are my favorite ones to buy at the grocery store. The breading was good! Crunchy and breaded, not just an outer shell.  The cheese: I will preface this part of the review by saying it comes down to how you heat them up, and I did so in the oven. Some cheese came out, but that was minimal. The che...

Farm Rich Mozzarella Bites

Farm Rich Mozzarella Bites- 8/10 crowns I know that you guys have been after a review all summer but your girl had to take a summer hiatus. Don't worry, I still ate a whole lot of mozzarella sticks. Ok, I will 100% stand by the truth that Farm Rich mozzarella sticks (or bites??) are untouchable. The breading: Now this was not breading like your traditional breadcrumbs. What we have here is a crispy dough that had the slightest, but exactly the right amount, of crunch. The shell was soft and crunchy at the same time and I was (and still am) mystified. The cheese: This. Cheese. Pull. Honestly the best cheese pull I have reviewed thus far. If you care about yourself at all, please treat yourselves to these and put them in your air fryer (400 °  for seven minutes) and enjoy the heck out of them. Go. The sauce: There was no sauce, and while I would kind of like to see one, I know as well as you guys that sometimes the sauce can ruin a good mozzarella bite. Guys just go to Sh...

T.G.I. Fridays Frozen Mozzarella Sticks

T.G.I. Fridays Frozen Mozzarella Sticks- 5/10 crowns As seen by the Nathan's mozzarella sticks fiasco, store brands are on shaky ground for me. However, these mozzarella sticks were pleasantly surprising! The flavor was present and overall good for a brand that you can buy for little coins at ShopRite. The breading: The breading on these mozzarella sticks (as described on the box), was an even coating of panko breading, and while I have tasted better breadcrumbs (Edison Diner wya), the taste was pretty good. I can get behind these mozzarella sticks. The cheese: The cheese, while good, was not stringy, and that is something that I enjoy and expect when trying mozzarella sticks. Because these mozzarella sticks were shaped more like rectangles instead of cylinders, there was more cheese overall, but if you don't heat them up long enough, they might be soggy. The sauce: The sauce definitely had a distinct flavor, and even though I can appreciate it in small amounts, the tas...

Nathan's Mozzarella Sticks

Nathan's Mozzarella Sticks- 3.5/10 crowns While these mozzarella sticks did in fact have some  flavor, it was minimal and overall similar to the school mozzarella sticks with a skosh more flavor and minus the sauce. Also, be warned that when put into the toaster oven, most of the cheese comes out of the breading and you are left with a hollow bread shell. The breading: The breading was overall bland, but not school level bland. There was some flavor but it was largely hidden by the disappointment from the cheese coming out. If you are looking for flavor, you would be better off upgrading to the more expensive (but well worth the price) Farm Rich brand. The cheese: I really do not have much to share about this cheese. The taste was lacking and it was not stringy. Whatever was left in the actual mozzarella stick left a lot to be desired. The sauce: Not available, and probably for the better. In conclusion, I probably would not spend my own money on these unless I had the su...

School Mozzarella Sticks

School Mozzarella Sticks- 2/10 crowns Alright, so for school mozzarella sticks, these are definitely edible. Are they good? No. Am I still going to eat them all? Absolutely. School is typically known as the place where food dies but these were pretty decent all things considered. I do not have many positive words to share about this experience, but I have tasted worse. The breading: The panko breading was bland for the most part and unimpressive, though I did not have any strong negative feelings towards it. There is little to be excited about. The cheese: This cheese was not it. Not stringy, this cheese was also bland but not at all unpleasant. The sauce: This sauce was easily the most potent part of the whole experience. There was a slight kick to the flavor, and it was had a slight tang to the taste. In general, this sauce was not bad, but do not be surprised to get a stomach ache if you eat too much. In conclusion, I would not spend money on these but I would eat all of ...
