 Buffalo Wild Wings Cheese Curds- 9/10 crowns


Ok, so I'll start out by saying that following the Chili's fiasco, these cheese bites could actually be a good replacement. It's unfortunate that the establishment on the overall is more expensive, but you could go on a Tuesday or Thursday and get half-priced wings, which would somewhat counteract the money you're spending on other things you order. Obviously docking half a point for the fact that this is a mozzarella stick blog and these are cheddar cheese. 


The breading: Since these weren't mozzarella sticks, these didn't have a breadcrumb coating, however, they were delivered to my table immediately after they were ready and the coating was so fresh and crunchy. These were definitely comparable to Chili's, even though it wasn't covered in spices.


The cheese: The cheese just also hit. I loved the flavor, even without the sauce. The cheese pull was very minimal, but the flavor more than made up for this shortcoming.


The sauce(s): So for these, I was advised to try caramel sauce (in the back) and I ordered honey mustard (in the front), which is my favorite. This honey mustard was not that great in my opinion, and while I dipped them several times, you can for sure find better. As for the caramel sauce? I was so surprised that I actually enjoyed this mix. I felt like I was at a carnival. Even though I enjoyed them very much without any sauce, I thought that the caramel sauce in particular enhanced the taste. 


In conclusion, screw Chili's she's off my radar. These were very good and I think that if I were to go back I would order the large size for myself and eat that instead of the wings. The price was comparable to what Chili's was giving us, so I think it's fair. Will definitely be repurchasing.

IHOP's Mozzarella Sticks- 7/10 crowns These are literally the *same* exact mozzarella sticks as Applebee's. I should just redirect you to that review. Speaking of  which ... Also, does that mean that IHOP is breakfast Applebee's?? The breading: Ok, girl, is there really much to say? Real bread crumbs. Good. The only thing about these breadcrumbs that isn't really my favorite is the cheese to breadcrumb ratio. There's no problem with having a lot of cheese, but my lactose a** would like more breadcrumbs to balance out the outrageous amount of dairy. The cheese: Anyway, so, the cheese always slaps.  Applebee's Crispy Cheese Bites- 1.5/10 crowns Applebee's is already on thin ice because they have once again raised their dine for two meal price from 2 for $22 to 2 for $24. ***Update 06/29/2023 2 for TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS NOW.  Utter jail. Just go to Chili's at that point because in their 2 for $25 dine meal, you get an appetizer, two entrees AND a dessert.  ***Update 06/29/2023 This Chili’s deal doesn’t exist anymore and for that they are on thin ice. There are just so many things working against these cheese bites. First, Applebee's already has a fried cheese option, the classic mozzarella sticks. These are also expensive AND they are not eligible for the half priced appetizers deal. Applebee's really fumbled the bag.
